Delaware Small Business Development Centers (DSBDCs)
The Small Business Development Centers (DSBDC) will answer your questions about managing a small business and provide information about small business issues. The DSBDC provides information, training and free, one-on-one counseling for small business owners and those interested in starting a business. The SBDC can obtain a market feasibility study for your business. It contains data such as a detailed demographic profile of your market area and a great amount of other information.

Wilmington Economic Development Corporation(WEDCO)
WEDCO provides small business owners with access to capital, financial counseling and other types of support. Special programs for women, veteran and minority owned businesses, as well as for businesses in targeted geographic areas, are also available. Established in 1979, WEDCO is a unique non-profit organization that provides assistance to small business entrepreneurs who are seeking to establish, expand or relocate their operations. WEDCO has provided assistance to hundreds of small business owners and helped to create thousands of jobs. Originally the organization was designed to help Wilmington-based businesses only. But based on its track record, many of WEDCO's programs have been expanded to include businesses in surrounding New Castle County.

The First State Community Loan Fund
The First State Community Loan Fund (FSCLF) is a not-for-profit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that specializes in supporting small businesses, micro-enterprises in the state of Delaware. The Business Growth Fund provides loans and borrower support for business owners, loans typically ranging from $15,001 to $50,000 to be repaid with interest over a 1-5 year period, depending on the nature of the loan. The Capital Works™ Microloans provides lending from $300 to $15,000 to be repaid with interest over a 4 month to 3 year period. YWCA's Capital Works and Department of Economic Advancement

A statewide small business development program that provides business training ongoing support, interaction with other business owners, a step-by-step approach to developing a business plan, and access to capital (though a joint project with the First State Community Loan Fund). The program is open to those individuals who are either thinking about starting a business or operate an existing small business. Training workshops promote business success by increasing business owners analytical, planning and management shills.

The YWCA's microenterprise program includes access to its Retail Cooperative, (Gifts & Garments to Go). This project provides an opportunity for product-oriented businesses to take advantage of hands-on training and managementassistance in the field of retail sales. This is also a venue for home based businesses to bring their products to market.
