Delaware Reuse Guide

The purpose of this Guide is to provide Delaware residents and businesses with information that will help reduce waste. It is also intended to support the many businesses and organizations in the state that make it their mission to make reuse a viable commercial option for all citizens.

In the pages of this Guide you will find a wealth of information on the importance of reuse. Whether you are interested in finding secondhand retail outlets, specialized repair shops, rental companies or simply wish to know where to go to donate items that are still useful but that you no longer want, this Guide is intended to give Delaware citizens direction in how to choose to reuse.

In particular, the Guide contains a special directory section which lists numerous organizations and businesses that cater to various reuse goods and services for a number of different product categories. Please note that the State does not vouch for the quality of service provided by these businesses, nor does this document list all of the businesses and organizations that can provide these services. Questionnaires were mailed out to approximately 1000 reuse-related companies in the state and the listings here reflect information we received back. Many of these companies along with additional ones are listed in the telephone directory as well. Where appropriate we have provided telephone book headings to help you find additional information.

In addition, in the sections titled "Other Reuse Opportunities" and "Beyond Reuse," we have also made information available on a wide range of topics associated with waste reduction. There is also a comprehensive listing of associations dedicated to various environmental and reuse issues and a bibliography that will allow you to gain more extensive knowledge on the complex and growing field of reuse.
